Notre m\u00e9daillon ovale en marbre blanc est un portrait pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 d\u2019Alexandre le Grand.
Ce joli bas-relief est r\u00e9alis\u00e9 selon les canons de repr\u00e9sentation n\u00e9o-classiques de l\u2019\u00e9poque. Le traitement des boucles de la chevelure \u00e0 l\u2019antique est tout particuli\u00e8rement remarquable.
Ce m\u00e9daillon a \u00e9t\u00e9 sans doute inspir\u00e9 par une paire de m\u00e9daillons similaires de Filippo Collino aujourd\u2019hui conserv\u00e9s \u00e0 Piazzatta Reale \u00e0 Turin repr\u00e9sentant Alexandre le Grand et sa m\u00e8re Olympia.<\/p>\n

Our oval white marble medallion is a presumed portrait of Alexander the Great. This beautiful bas-relief is made according to the neo-classical canons of representation of the time. Particularly noteworthy is the antique treatment of curls in the hair.<\/em>
This medallion was undoubtedly inspired by a pair of similar medallions by Filippo Collino now kept at Piazzatta Reale in Turin depicting Alexander the Great and his mother Olympia.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
