Tous les animaux all\u00e8rent \u00e0 sa rencontre et lui apport\u00e8rent de la nourriture. Le singe grimpa dans les arbres et lui donna des fruits. L\u2019ours p\u00eacha des poissons dans la rivi\u00e8re. Les oiseaux chass\u00e8rent des vers et des insectes. Seul le li\u00e8vre ne trouva rien \u00e0 lui donner et en \u00e9tait d\u00e9sol\u00e9. Les animaux se moqu\u00e8rent de lui. Aussi lorsque le feu fut pr\u00eat pour pr\u00e9parer le repas il se jeta dans les flammes offrant ainsi sa propre chair en sacrifice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Le dieu tr\u00e8s \u00e9mu par cet acte d\u00e9cida de lui rendre la vie et de l\u2019envoyer sur la lune en r\u00e9compense. Depuis ce conte les Japonais voient se dessiner un lapin sur la lune lorsqu\u2019elle est pleine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Only the hare was sorry, he did have a gift. All the other animals of the forest laughed at him. So, when the fire was ready to cook dinner, the hare jumped in the flames, gifting its own flesh as a sacrifice. The god, deeply moved by this gesture decided to bring the hare back to life and to send him to the moon as a reward. Since then, Japanese can see an hare drawn on the moon when its bright and full.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
