Le motif saya <\/i>(ou sayagata<\/i>) est compos\u00e9 de svastikas chinois. Ce symbole, li\u00e9 au bouddhisme, repr\u00e9sente des qualit\u00e9s d\u2019intelligence, de force et de paix. Le furoshiki<\/i> d\u00e9signe une technique de pliage et nouage d\u2019une \u00e9toffe de tissu pour l\u2019emballage de cadeaux et le transport d\u2019objets. Son utilisation remonte \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque de Nara (710-794). La noblesse l\u2019utilisait pour envelopper et prot\u00e9ger les objets de valeur. Le nom <\/span>\u98a8\u5442\u306b\u6577\u304f<\/span>, \u00ab\u00a0furo ni shiku<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb (\u00e9tal\u00e9 au bain) est invent\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque Muromachi (1336-1573), avant de se g\u00e9n\u00e9raliser \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque Edo (1603-1868). Il permettait d\u2019empaqueter les v\u00eatements aux bains publics. Appropri\u00e9 par la haute soci\u00e9t\u00e9, il est ensuite employ\u00e9 par les marchands afin de mieux vendre leurs produits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fundame<\/span><\/i> background, furoshiki<\/i> in takamaki-e<\/i> with floral pattern, inside the folds of the fabric with black and gold sayagata<\/i> pattern with togidashi maki-e<\/i> technique. The saya<\/i> (or sayagata<\/i>) pattern is composed of Chinese swastikas. This symbol, linked to Buddhism, represents qualities of intelligence, strength and peace. It is a sign of good omen. Interior in nashi-ji<\/i> lacquer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furoshiki<\/span><\/i> is a technique of folding and knotting a fabric for wrapping gifts and carrying objects. Its use dates back to the Nara period (710-794). The nobility used it to wrap and protect valuable items. The name <\/span>\u98a8\u5442\u306b\u6577\u304f<\/span>, \u201cfuro ni shiku<\/i>\u201d (spread in the bath<\/i>) was coined in the Muromachi (1336-1573) period, before becoming widespread in the Edo period (1603-1868). It was used to pack clothes in public baths. Appropriated by the high society, it was then used by merchants to better sell their products.<\/span><\/p>\n
