Established in Paris since 1986, first on the right bank and then on the left, antique dealer Jean-Philippe Chalem offers sculpture, furniture and works of art from the five continents, both secular and religious, whose only common denominator is the spirit that emanates from them.
His eclectic collection is likely to surprise some : indeed one might find a Thai Lanna Buddha alongside a Nigerian Igbo statue, a 15h century Roman gilt cross next to a 17th century German cabinet or a 19h century Egyptian incense-burner beside a 15th century « A Pastiglia » cassone.
